Directions to Trailhead: From West Glacier, take the Going to the Sun Road to Logan Pass. The trailhead can be found behind the Logan Pass Visitor Center. Trail Description: The trail to Hidden Lake begins on a boardwalk that begins to climb through a field to Hidden Lake Pass. Normally, this field is covered in wild flowers, but when we were there in July 1999, it was still covered in snow. At 1.4 miles, you will reach Hidden Lake Pass, which is above the tree line. Visitors can often encounter whole families of mountain goats here. At 1.5 miles is the Hidden Lake Overlook, a wooden platform with educational information about the lakes of Glacier National Park. From the overlook, you can either turn back, or continue on to Hidden Lake. Return the way you came. |
