"South Carolina or Bust"
|
Every child, at some point in his or her life, should be "punished" with a cross-country road trip; it is a necessary part of growing up. Back in the 70's, when John was a kid, his parents would pack up him and Janice and all of their stuff and drive them across the country to see new and interesting things. I, on the other hand, was not so lucky; the furthest my parents ever took us from home by car was to Disneyland (which, back then, you could do in one day). Hearing that, John concluded that we needed to complete that rite de passage for me and for Mary, too. So, on Thursday, July 27, we embarked on an eleven day cross-country road trip, to visit John's grandparents in South Carolina.
