Directions to Trailhead: From Prescott, drive north on SR 89 for 4 miles. Turn right on to SR 89A and go 17 miles to the top of Mingus Mountain. Turn left onto the Potato Patch Campground Road. Follow signs to trailhead parking. Trail Description: We only hiked the first two miles of this trail so my review is quite brief. From parking area, follow old dirt road a half of a mile through ponderosa pine forest to the trailhead. The trail is quite easy. It follows the contour of the mountain near the ridge line. The views are outstanding, although the road noise along SR 89A is a disappointment. Return the way you came. |
