Directions to Trailhead: From Flagstaff, take US Highway 89 north to US Highway 160. Take US 160 northeast 63 miles to AZ564. Turn left and follow AZ564 12 miles to the Visitor's Center. Trail Description: The Sandal Trail begins at the visitor's center. At the start of the trail, you can explore a hogan and a sweathouse, both of which are situated just outside of the visitor's center. The paved trail then descends over a half of a mile to a vista point overlooking the Betatakin Ruins. Return the way you came. |
