Directions to Trailhead: From Sierra Vista, go south on SR 92 and east on SR 93 and follow the signs to the monument. Stop at the Visitor Center. A free permit is required to visit the cave. Flashlights (at least one per person) are a must! Trail Description: From the west end of the visitor center parking lot, follow the well marked trail as it climbs through high Sonoran vegetation to the cave entrance. Walking in the cave is easy and the temperature is rather constant. There are many "rooms" to this cave. If you care, some require you to crawl on your belly to enter. Return the way you came. |
