Brins Mesa Trail

Directions to Trailhead:

From junction of SR 89A and SR 179, go south for 5 miles to Dry Creek Road (FR 152C) Go west for 2 miles to FR 152 (passable by car except in wet weather). Go 3 miles to trailhead.

UPDATE: A Red Rock Pass is now required.

Trail Description:

From the trailhead, the trail meanders amongst oak, juniper and manzanitas as it follows a creek into the wilderness. The creek has some pools of water in it. After a mile the trail leaves the creek and climbs to the top of Brin's Mesa. Climb is an overstatement: the only "steep" section was less than 100 yards long. From the top of the mesa, the view opens up and the trail ends at an overlook of Sedona. Great views of Bell Rock and Airport Mesa from the overlook.

For added adventure, from the overlook, climb the hill to the south. It is a steep and rugged climb, but the views are worth it.

Return the way you came.
