Directions to Trailhead: From Flagstaff, drive north on US Highway 180 for 10 miles, to FR 151 (Hart Prairie Road). Turn right on FR 151 and drive 5.6 miles to FR 627 (Bismark Lake Road). Park at the end of the road (1 mile). Trail Description: The trail begins on an old road that is closed to motorized vehicles, as it is part of a protected wildlife habitat. The first 0.5 miles of this trail is flat as it meanders through pine forests and pretty mountain meadows. At 0.5 miles, the trail begins to climb gently to a lovely alpine meadow. Here, at the one mile mark, you will find a spur trail that goes another 0.2 miles, across the meadow, to Bismark Lake. The right fork will take you to the Lews Tank Meadow Trail. Return the way you came. |
