TentsColeman 10X10 Sundome Tent: For years, we slept in a 9X8 Winnebago tent and often found ourselves cramped, what with all of the stuff we had in there (air mattress, duffel bags, etc.). Not anymore! The Coleman 10X10 tent fits our Queen-sized air mattress and our bags...and we still have room to move around in it. It's like having a portable bedroom. It is waterproof - this tent has been through some very wet monsoon seasons in the high country, but everything on the inside stayed dry. The bottom of the tent is tough and does not allow ground water to seap through. Coleman Peak 1 Aries: Our Peak 1 Aries serves a dual purpose. For one, it is an adequate backcountry tent - although it is small and sleeps two adults comfortably, it does weigh 5 pounds (with all of the parts included). That is a bit on the heavy side for backcountry camping. Second, it serves as a GREAT child's tent for campground camping. By day, our four year-old plays in it with all of her toys, and by night, she sleeps in it all by herself - it is her own private domain. The downside of this tent is that it is not completely waterproof. The rainfly leaks, and the tent bottom does not do a good job at keeping out ground water. Return to Gear Reviews. |
