Backpacks

Gregory Triconi Backpack (Men's): Review coming soon!

REI Starlite (Women's): Available at R.E.I.  For me, this is one of the best backpacks I have owned.  Unlike the CampTrails Nightsong (below), this particular pack is shorter and wider, which helps to balance the load a little better.  It also has a lot of external storage pouches, which really come in handy on the trail.

CampTrails Nightsong Women's Backpack: An older backpack. Holds about 40-50 pounds of gear. Although this pack has served me well throughout the years, I have found that it is a bit tall, and that sometimes throws off my balance. It also does not have storage pouches - something that I would have preferred in a backpack.

Coleman Peak 1 Shoshone Men's Backpack: An older backpack. Holds about 50-70 pounds of gear. This backpack rides well and has held up well over the years. It has storage pouches in the front for easy access to frequently used gear.

Kelty Kids Backpack: The Kelty Kids backpack served us well when our little one was still a baby. It holds 35 pounds of gear and a child (it says up to age 5, but our child was too big for it at age 3). The design of the pack makes it a bit awkward to carry - we have found that it sometimes requires a second person to help put it on. Comes with a detachable day pack and a Platypus hydration system.
